... Bro. Michael Hayslip preached on Genesis 9:1-17. "The Lord hit the reset button."
All mankind had adopted a lifestyle even more evil than that of Sodom and Gomorrah -- the lowest of the low. Noah was righteous man, but still it was God's grace that placed him and his family on the Ark. Rain came for the first time. The springs and wells gushed water, both continuously for 40 days and nights. Everyone Noah knew outside was dying. After the flood, a new covenant. God would never curse the ground or kill the animals because of the sin of man. The intention of men to sin continuously. They cannot be perfect but can be good. The cycle of seasons is to continue. Man can eat animals but no blood. Animals to dread men. God set a (rainbow) in the heavens - "When I see the bow I will remember and not destroy."
...There was a young man that professed that Jesus is Lord of all after everyone had left on Easter Sunday, I didn’t know until Wednesday. Praise the Lord!
...Also, Sister Betty Parnell, our sweet Sister in Christ, passed away unexpectantly. She was in service Easter after a long illness.

We had a blessed day of worship with 13 for Sunday school and 23 for Worship.
… Tommy Carter sang “Here Am I, Send Me” for the special music.
… Bro. Larry Childers preached from John 20:24 – 31. Everything didn’t just end on Easter Sunday. What next; Jesus was here another 40 days continuing His mission on earth. Thomas did not believe the other disciples. There is a blessing to meeting together with fellow believers. 8 days later Thomas was with the disciples when Jesus appeared. We’re here to reach a lost world with Christ. Until we meet Jesus; we can’t fully know Him. Thomas wants the same experiences as the other disciples had.
…We had 18 for Evening Worship.
…Tommy Carter sang “I’ve Got Peace Like a River” for the special music.
…Bro. Larry preached from John 21:15 – 17. Are we willing to be followers of Christ instead of wanting to be the leader? Three times Peter denied Christ and in this scripture. Peter states he loves Jesus three times. It’s easy to say you love Jesus, but it's harder to show our love for Jesus. Jesus told Peter "if you love Me." He needed to do something. You can’t be a Christian if you don’t love. We are to grow in the love of Jesus.
Hope all have a blessed week!
Larry Childers, Pastor
Tommy Carter, Secretary, reporting.
Attendance was around ten.
Mark Estes brought a message from Genesis 50:29-21.
Detours come at unexpected times in our life. We can get stalled in one place.
....The time we live in is a heart wrenching time. When God develops things in our lives, he often puts in detours. Joseph’s life was full of detours. God’s people are detoured by things, people and circumstances.
....Every born again Christian has an eternal destiny. The life we’re living right now is what God has planned. The plan is for us to glorify him. We have a purpose.
....John 5:22 tells us that all judgement has been given to Christ.
Abraham, David, Moses and Paul were all on detours.
How many times have we not wanted the place we are in?
...Destiny includes good and evil.
... Joseph is a key character in Genesis. He was Jacob’s favorite son. Jacob’s favor towards Joseph was obvious to all. The robe was a symbol of privilege.
Genesis 37:5-7. Joseph was despicable in his brother’s eyes.
...Jacob was always having strife in his life. We should not show favoritism to our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joseph, at 17 years of age, was immature. God’s developing two things through detours - maturity and the destiny for when we get there. God has to take away the parts of ourselves that we don’t need.
... It depends on how we respond to God. He wants to make sure we have the character. God will take away the things we are putting before him.
Some places we go will be dry. God will make sure we are refined.
... Joseph was destined to become prime minister of Egypt. He had to be put through things necessary to prepare him.
...Koletta is going on the mission trip to the Ukraine by the Master Singers. They depart on April 16th and return on the 27th. Larry Grayson of the state convention is the coordinator. Scripture ; I Corinthians 13: 6-7
Message Title – Love is a Many Splendored Thing
The Corinthian Church had many problems because of their lack of love for Christ and each other. A Church without love for Christ is a dying church. We must love God first then we can love others.
Love Does Not Rejoice at Wrongdoing (v.6)
Love Rejoices With the Truth (v.6)
Love Bears and Believes All Things (v.7)
Love Hopes and Endures All Things (v.7)
God is Love. Sin brings death. Christ Jesus is our only hope for eternal life.

Dr. Don Taylor
The Great "unknown" Commission (excerpts)
Are you familiar with the "Great Commission"? Do you know where to find it in the Bible? Do you know who gave it and when? It is what Jesus said to His followers just before He ascended back into heaven.
Matthew records it:
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. (Matthew 28:18-20)
According to a new study many have forgotten this great exhortation of Jesus when He commanded all Christians to "go and make disciples of all nations."
4,000 churches in America each year close their doors for the last time. They die. And, in addition, 2.7 million people stop going to church, many of them Southern Baptists. (Hartford)
According to the same source the average median age of a church member is 54. Since 2003 Southern Baptists have lost 800,000 members. (SBC Life)
Last year one-half of SBC churches didn't have one person join the church.
Isn't it time for today's church to do as the early church? To gather in an upper room to make our prayer unto God?
10 And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; 11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. 12 Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey. 13 And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James. 14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren. (Acts 1:10-14)
Acts 2 tells us what happened when God showed up at the prayer meeting. How we need that to happen in today's church; in MY church.
